微核(micronucleus，简称MCN)是真核生物细胞中的一种异常结构，是由有丝分裂后期丧失着丝粒的染色体片断游离于细胞质中产生的。细胞受遗传毒物作用形成微核，以检测细胞中微核的形成来检测物质遗传毒性的试验称为微核试验。目前，微核试验已被许多国家及机构纳入标准检测试验，用于评价新药、食品添加剂、农药、化妆品、工业化学品、环境污染物等遗传毒性的检测、安全性评价和遗传损害的检测。

体外流式微核分析，让该过程变得更加简单、快捷、可靠，并可获得更丰富的信息。

流式细胞术是检测微核的新兴技术平台。相比于传统的显微镜下计数微核的方法，流式细胞技术的检测优势在于：高速高通量，多细胞多参数，高特异性，多信息。
