The physical testing detailed in these standards, for certification purposes, EN 340 chemical innocuousness testing of all materials used in the construction of the guards is also required.
EN 340: pH value assessment: Testing of ALL materials used in the construction of the guard (excluding the hard plastic shell) in ALL colours. Therefore, this must include foams, elastics, linings, touch and close fastenings etc.
EN 340: colour fastness to perspiration: Testing of ALL dyed materials that may come into contact with the wearers skin or clothing
EN 340: azo dyes: Testing of ALL dyed materials that may come into prolonged contact with the wearers skin
Arm Protectors: Height range and chest girth range (in cm) of the wearer that the products are intended to fit.
Thigh Protectors: Height range and waist girth range (in cm) of the wearer that the products are intended to fit.
Knee / Shin Protectors: Height range and waist girth range (in cm) of the wearer that the products are intended to fit.
Please also be advised that you will need to confirm whether the protectors are to be assessed as Level 1, 2, or 3 protectors and provide a reference code or name for the products as we are required to include this information on the final test reports.
